The problem

A chemistry visit routinely orders overlapping panels. Cholesterol appears in both a lipid profile and a cardiac risk panel, and retyping meant entering the same measurement twice, with two chances to get it wrong.

How we connected it

The Pentra 400 transmits one record per analyte over RS-232 ASTM. The receiver parses each session into a set of observations and plans them against the investigations pending on the patient's visit, using a test catalog as the planner.

The catalog's fan-out routing fills every panel that ordered an analyte from a single measurement. The technician reviews the whole plan at once and submits.

Observations are matched to what the clinician actually ordered, so nothing is filed loose.

Headless when clean
